VC CONGRATULATES NEW CHIEF SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT

PENANG, 13 July 2012 – Universiti Sains Malaysia Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Omar Osman, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dato' Sri Dr. Ali bin Hamsa on his appointment as the Chief Secretary to the government.

"We are confident that, with vision, strength of character and his vast experience in numerous positions held before, Dato' Sri Dr. Ali is capable of leading a productive public service that is efficient and effective,” Omar said.

"The views expressed by Dato' Sri Dr. Ali since his appointment as the Chief Secretary at the end of last month showed his commitment and concern of his work," Omar added.

Omar also thanked, on behalf of the university, the former Chief Secretary, Tan Sri Sidek Hassan, who has given an outstanding contribution during his service and had on occasions attended the university’s official events. The latest being the welcoming of new undergraduates last year.
