IPPT CELEBRATES BREAKING OF FAST WITH SENIOR CITIZENS

KEPALA BATAS, August 1, 2012 – The Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (IPPT), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) celebrated about 36 Darul Hanan senior citizens in the breaking of fast at Darul Hanan Senior Citizens Complex, Pongsu Seribu, Kepala Batas here recently.

The reception, attended by 20 IPPT staff, is one of the programmes organised by the IPPT Ihya Ramadan 2012 Committee, established to plan activities during this holy month.

It aims to celebrate for the less fortunate, especially the elderly who need care and assistance, besides fostering brotherhood and friendship among the IPPT staff.

IPPT community also channels aid to provide comfort and sharing a sense of social responsibility.

The president of the Darul Hanan, Dato' Hajah Jahara binti Hamid, who is also the Telok Air Tawar State Assemblyman, said that the reception was the third time the senior citizens celebrate Ramadan in the complex and thanked for the contributions to Darul Hanan.

“I am very pleased to welcome USM IPPT staff to the complex to entertain and to cheer the senior citizens here,” she said.

Acting IPPT Director Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Lutfi Shuaib also donated supplies and duit raya to the senior citizens to celebrate Ramadan and Aidilfitri which is just around the corner.
