Kuala Lumpur, August 7, 2012 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) will further strengthen future collaboration in the field of education.
“USM appreciates the close cooperation with other agencies, most recently with MARA, in order to expand the network of cooperation for the future benefit of the people and country,” said Professor Dato' Omar Osman, USM Vice-Chancellor after visiting the Director-General, Datuk Ibrahim Ahmad, at his office here.
According to Omar, cooperation is important in realizing the efforts of both parties to develop and strengthen the existing educational process, offering degree programmes in higher education, investment and also human resource development.
“USM is prepared to offer specific postgraduate programmes to MARA, especially those involving staff who want to increase their knowledge,” Omar added.
The two-hour meeting between the two parties will be subsequently followed up with certain official programmes to implement the agreed plan in the near future.
