“This is the second workshop to be conducted and has received good response from the students. The actual cost to run workshops such as these is RM18,000 each, but with my experience of the external workshops, I can share this knowledge with the students for only RM180.00 per person. Although the students have to pay the fees on their own, I hope that they will use this opportunity the best possible,” said Aman during the closing ceremony and prize giving to successful GISC-CyberSec participants.

GISC-CyberSec revealed to the students about the importance of ethical 'hacking' as well as other security features in the cyber world. Nik Mohd Anas Nik Kamarudin took the opportunity to show how to 'hack' a close circuit camera of a premise/office for security reasons.

In the event, a total of five students received ‘Gold’ class in theory and practical examinations having scored above 90 percent; seven others received Silver (60 percent); and nine, Bronze (40 percent). The prizes were presented by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Omar Osman; witnessed by Prof Ahamad Tajudin Khader, Prof. Rosni Abdullah and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aman Jantan.

“The knowledge gained is more important than the certificate. This is because this knowledge would bring benefits to others. You are the guardians of cyber security in the future,” Omar said in his closing address. - Text: Nor Rafizah Md Zain / Photo: Mohamad Danial Shahri / Translation: Yong Check Yoon
