PM VISITED USM

PENANG, 22 APRIL 2012: Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak visited Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) today in his one-day working trip to Penang.
He arrived at the USM Rumah Pemimpin around 2.15 pm after attending several events in Nibong Tebal and was welcomed by the University Management Committee members.
Najib chose USM as one of his visitation locations because it gave him the opportunity to meet a group of students who represent the Secretariat of the 'Novel Research & Innovation Competition', of which he expressed his support for such an important initiative that highlights the research findings of the students at the first degree level.
He later met the Indian and Chinese NGOs in Dewan Budaya and Dewan Tuanku Syed Putra respectively before leaving Penang on the same day.
Also present during the PM visit were Prof. Dato’ Omar Osman, USM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ahmad Shukri Mustapa Kamal, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Prof. Asma Ismail, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Prof. Dato' Susie See Ching Mey, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Network), Prof. Adnan Hussein, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students Affairs & Development) and Prof. Muhamad Jantan, Director of the Institutional Development Division.
