Pusat Kawalan Doping USM masih beroperasi
PENANG 4 June – The Doping Control Centre(PKD), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is opearting as usual despite its recent suspension by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
USM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak said that although doping tests could not be carried out for now, the centre was still carrying out other analysis including food and environmental analysis.
"Although there are problems with doping, the centre is not closed. In fact, other activities like food and environmental analysis are still being carried out as usual," he told reporters here, today.
Last Wednesday, WADA announced the suspension of the centre for failing to comply with the International Standards for Laboratories (ISL).
However, the centre can submit an appeal within 21 days from the suspension.
