WORK SINCERELY, SAYS VC

PENANG, 7 July 2012 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) community is urged to work sincerely to ensure that the university continues to move forward.

"This is especially true among the library community who provides facilities for the dissemination of knowledge through its available resources," said the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Omar Osman.

Speaking in a gathering with the Library staff, the Vice-Chancellor wanted to see that not only the library community but also the entire university community to work sincerely and willing to make sacrifices to achieve the aspiration together in upholding the dignity of knowledge and the university.

"At the same time, we should not focus only on the tasks that are within our own work environment but also to engage in various out-of-office activities that are beneficial," said Omar.

The Vice-Chancellor also praised the involvement of the library community in various sports activities to bring glory to the name of the university.

More than 70 library staff attended the meeting. Also present were the Chief Librarian, Mohd. Pisol Ghazali and the Library senior officers.
