Local

The "Program Sekolah Tunas Hijau Fasa-3, 2023" held in Perak, led by USM's CETREE and CGSS, focused on raising awareness among teachers and students about environmental sustainability and plastic waste reduction in schools. The program also emphasized co-operative planning for climate change disasters, working with government agencies to address potential displacement of people within and across borders due to climate impacts.

Participants engaged in workshops and gamified activities, learning about sustainable practices and ways to strengthen community resilience against climate-related challenges through collaborative planning efforts.

Global and Regional

At the United Nations Climate Week 2023, USM’s team engaged in global discussions on climate change, emphasizing co-operative planning for climate change disasters in regional and global issues. This planning includes addressing the displacement of people, both within countries and across borders, and working closely with governments. USM's participation highlighted solutions for energy, urban infrastructure, water, and health, contributing to global climate strategies and the Paris Agreement goals. Their collaborative approach aims to strengthen resilience against climate-related disasters through integrated community efforts.
