However, it is subject to any change regarding the MCO.

1.4 Even with the government relaxing the restriction of the CMCO beginning 4 May 2020, USM is abiding by the latest decision from the Penang State Government, which will only implement CMCO beginning 8 May 2020. With regard to that, USM students who are still on-campus would be subject to the instructions as enforced throughout MCO 4. The students are requested to obtain permission from the USM Nerve Centre by filling in the required form. Nevertheless, students are still advised to remain on campus to avoid the risk of the COVID-19 outbreak.

2.1 The official decision of the University and the earlier announcement regarding the timeline on the return of the administrative/academic staff is still in effect. The University would like to inform that all staff will only return to work at the office beginning 1 June 2020 in stages.
